Ministry of Defense: Air surveillance systems did not detect overflights of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova

The Ministry of Defense states that the air surveillance systems of the National Army did not detect overflights of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, in the afternoon of today, when the remains of a rocket fell in the vicinity of the town of Larga in the Briceni district.

"The detected electronic elements are to be investigated by the competent bodies. We will return with additional information along the way. At the same time, we inform you that the air surveillance systems of the National Army did not detect overflights of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova", according to the informative note issued by the Ministry of Defense.

It should be noted that, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Chisinau, as a result of Russia's massive bombing of Ukraine, a patrol of the border police discovered, this afternoon, in the area of ​​the Larga border sector, Briceni district, the remains of a missile, originating from from Russian airstrikes on Ukraine.

Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița later came up with a reaction, in which she vehemently condemned the Russian attacks taking place in the neighbouring country, Ukraine, and in which she expressed her indignation at the new overflight of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova.

Moldova 1 specifies that, throughout today's day, the Ukrainian authorities reported rocket attacks in several regions of the country, including the capital, Kyiv. According to Ukrainian officials, residential buildings and critical Ukrainian infrastructure are being bombed. In Dnipropetrovsk, at least ten people, including two children, were injured after a rocket destroyed a multi-storey apartment block.
