Tragedy Strikes Football Match in Ciulucani
A 39-year-old man died in a devastating accident on the evening of June 23rd in the village of Ciulucani. The incident occurred during a football match when, according to preliminary reports, the man grabbed onto the crossbar of the goalpost.
He lost his balance and fell to the ground, where he was then struck in the head by the goalpost. This tragic event resulted in the man's death before the ambulance could arrive. Press officer Elena Baetrău from Teleradio-Moldova confirmed the incident and reported that the police are currently investigating to determine all the details and whether there was any negligence by the authorities.
This is not the first such incident this year. Earlier this month, an 11-year-old child in Transnistria was hospitalised after a football goal fell on him. In a similar incident in April, a seven-year-old child was admitted to the Institute of Mother and Child in serious condition. Last year, two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, tragically lost their lives after a football goal collapsed on them.
