70% of Moldovans believe that their rights are not respected, poll
In the Republic of Moldova, there is a level of rejection towards people with disabilities, LGBT people, those infected with HIV, as well as towards refugees, reveals a study on perceptions and attitudes towards equality for 2024.
The poll data show that 70% of the respondents believe that their rights are not respected in the Republic of Moldova.
As for the equality of people with physical and mental disabilities, the answers are different. According to the survey, 51% of respondents believe that people with mental disabilities do not represent a risk to society, and 54% believe that these people would represent a danger.
Moreover, 73 percent of respondents believe that women should take care of children and family, and men are the best political leaders.
In this national poll, carried out by IMAS, 1100 people from 94 localities were interviewed. The margin of error is +/- 3%.
