"Preserving the past, we must look to the future." The message of the Minister Sergiu Prodan on the National Day of Culture

Last year, in the context of the war in Ukraine, through the cultural actions carried out, cultural people from the Republic of Moldova sent messages of peace, libraries and other institutions transformed themselves in support centres for refugees, said the Minister of Culture, Sergiu Prodan in a video message on the occasion of the National Day of Culture.

Protecting and developing national spiritual values, our job is not to forget the current trends of humanity, the minister stated.

"Preserving the past, we must look to the future. This is the reason why this year we got involved in the development and support of the national program aiming to develop the creative industries "Creative Moldova". The National Day of Culture makes us look at what has been done, but also at what we have to achieve. My greatest wish is that in 2023 is to succeed in taking steps at the level of public policies and implementing concrete actions to increase cultural values ​​in our country and together change the emphasis in terms of moral and spiritual education of the nation. Happy birthday, dear people of culture", said Sergiu Prodan.

Sergiu Prodan recalled the main cultural events which marked the last year, including the reopening of the Bookfest International Book Fair, where there were exhibited more than 30,000 volumes in the Romanian language.

Radio Moldova recalls that today Moldova celebrated the National Day of Culture, being also a tribute to the memory of the greatest national poet Mihai Eminescu, born on January 15.
