EU Accession and Financial Support: Moldova's Path and Challenges
During the accession process, the Republic of Moldova will receive financial assistance from the European Union. If there is stagnation or regression in implementing reforms, corrective actions may be taken, such as suspending negotiations.
Furthermore, the accession process will be transparent, involving civil society and citizens to facilitate constructive dialogue. These provisions are outlined in the Negotiation Framework proposed by the European Union for Moldova and published by the Government of Chișinău.
Negotiations focus on upholding the EU's core values, including human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, and the rule of law, alongside ensuring stable democratic institutions and a functional market economy.
"The document states that Moldova must ensure that its institutions, management capacity, administrative, and judicial systems are sufficiently consolidated to effectively implement the acquis."
Progress in reforms will be monitored regularly during negotiations, and the pace of negotiations will depend on this progress.
It is noted that on Tuesday, June 25, the EU launched accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova during the first Moldova-EU Intergovernmental Conference.
