Maia Sandu conferred distinctions on several people of culture

On the occasion of the National Day of Culture, President Maia Sandu conferred distinctions on several people of culture for outstanding successes in creative activity and high professional mastery. In a message on Facebook, the head of state expressed her admiration, respect and gratitude for the creators and thinkers of our country.

“Today is a special occasion for the cohesion of the entire society around the cultural, spiritual and intellectual values ​​of our nation”, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița mentioned in her turn.

Previously, the Minister of Culture, Sergiu Prodan declared that in 2022, artists demonstrated the essential role of culture in promoting peace. According to him, this day proposes as a theme for reflection the role that culture has in preserving and cultivating our national identity.

Radio Moldova reminds listeners that today, when the poet Mihai Eminescu was born 173 years ago, the Republic of Moldova is marking the National Day of Culture.
