Germany offers 15 million euros to improve the water infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova

The "Improvement of water infrastructure in Central Moldova" project will benefit from a grant worth 15 million euros from the German Government. Additional grant agreements were signed at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. According to the relevant minister, Andrei Spînu, the project will bring water to the homes of about 75 thousand people, from Străseni and Călărași districts.

The signed document provides for the construction of the Chisinau-Străseni-Călărași main aqueduct, investments in the water network in Străseni and Călărași and the expansion of the water supply infrastructure for the localities in the two districts.

The value of the support provided by the German partners amounts to 40 million euros, and the total contribution of the Government will constitute 5 million euros. The project is implemented by the Centru Regional Development Agency and is planned to be completed in 2028.
