Volodymyr Zelensky announces a new strategy to diminish Russia's influence in the Black Sea
Ukraine intends to diminish Russian influence in the western part of the Black Sea through a new national maritime strategy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, quoted by DPA.
The leader from Kiev claims that he fully understands that the war has changed the balance of power in the Black Sea region and that the Russian fleet will never again dominate these waters.
Thus, Ukraine will pursue its own national interests at sea and those of its partners in order to protect shipping routes, the Ukrainian head of state announced.
In addition to strengthening Ukraine's naval power, Zelenskiy also promised that his country would further improve its air defenses and hinted at receiving another Patriot unit from Germany and further reinforcements due to arrive next week.
