Chief of IGP: The Turkish citizen was murdered on command by a skilled killer
One of the versions examined by the police in the case of the murder of the Turkish citizen is the contract killing executed by a well-trained killer. The clarification was made for Radio Moldova by the head of the IGP, Viorel Cernăuțeanu.
The head of the IGP mentioned that the case is managed by the prosecutor's office, and the investigative measures are executed by the police.
Asked if citizens should worry about their safety, Cernăuțeanu replied that we are talking about a settlement of accounts between criminal groups abroad. "I saw that there were witnesses, but who did not suffer, being very clear what was the objective of this criminal"*.
Cernăuțeanu said that police filters are placed in all exits from Chisinau, but also within a certain radius of the city, which thoroughly check all means of transport.
We remind that on Tuesday afternoon, a man opened fire while moving on a scooter, targeting a foreigner. The victim died on the spot. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the victim is a 41-year-old Turkish citizen who was part of a criminal group. According to the police, he was allegedly killed intentionally to prevent him from giving statements in a case.
The man was notified through Interpol channels by the law enforcement authorities of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, with the aim of arrest and extradition, being accused of committing smuggling offenses and dealing in heroin.
He has not been extradited so far because he has applied for asylum. Two years ago, he was denied the asylum procedure, but so far there is no final court decision on this case.
Moreover, he was placed in custody, with subsequent extradition, but he was released from custody following the court's decision.
