Moldovan winemakers will receive 8 million lei to expand their presence on international markets
Moldovan winemakers will benefit from about 8 million lei in the form of grants to expand their presence and strengthen their reputation on international markets, informs the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. WESA grant program "Promotion and Export of Moldovan Wine" was launched to this effect.
Through these support programs, wine producers can access grants and support to penetrate the European and global market, claims Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea.
"It is essential that Moldovan wines are appreciated worldwide. Winemaking is only part of the road to success. Equally essential is promotion and presence in international markets, an often difficult challenge for many winemakers, even those producing high-quality wines. We have 68 small wineries in Moldova, but growth potential exists. It is vital to offer them all the necessary support, including for promoting exports", said Vladimir Bolea.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the WESA grant program, which will take place over the next 12 months, aims to increase the sales of Moldovan wines on international markets, especially on non-traditional markets such as Romania, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands , Denmark, South Korea, Japan and Canada.
The program aims to support 15 wine companies from the Republic of Moldova.
