The conclusions of the hearings would be presented at the next plenary session of the Parliament. This was announced by the president of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Commission, Lilian Carp at the Parliament meeting on July 11. We remind you that a 41-year-old Turkish citizen was shot at noon on July 10, while he was sitting on a terrace in the Rîscani sector of Chisinau.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office, the victim was detained in 2022 by the Moldovan authorities, and he was pursued by the law enforcement bodies of Great Britain through Interpol channels, in order to be arrested and extradited. A few days after he was detained, the Turkish citizen submitted an asylum application, which was rejected only five months later.

The victim's lawyer contested it, which led to the trial being dragged out. Moreover, the Code of Criminal Procedure stipulates that a person cannot be deprived of liberty for more than 180 days, if an asylum application is pending.
