Ion Ceban: A solid waste collection project will be implemented in the next 5 years
The solid waste collected from the municipality of Chisinau will be sorted and recycled, in the context in which a project in this sense will be implemented in the next five years, announced the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban.
According to him, paper, glass, plastic and cardboard will be recycled in the first stage, and tires and furniture in the second. "The cleaner will be obliged to recycle all types of waste, paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, glass and such waste as rubber tires and furniture. This solution comes to solve the gaps in the waste sorting system. The city hall, meanwhile, is also developing other sorting and recycling solutions ", said Ion Ceban. Under the agreement, the operator selected through the competition will recycle over 170 thousand tons of waste from the total of 190 thousand that Chisinau produces annually.
