The Council of Europe and Moldovan officials discussed the Action Plan for 2025-2028

The project of the new Council of Europe Action Plan in the Republic of Moldova, for the period 2025-2028, as well as the organization's assistance in the European course of the Republic of Moldova was the main topic discussed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergiu Mihov, and the Director of Programme Co-ordination at the Council of Europe, Claus Neukirch.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting between the two officials, the projects to be included in the future action plan were analyzed. These result from the objectives of the Republic of Moldova related to reforms in the field of human rights, democracy, rule of law, through the prism of priorities related to the process of integration into the European Union.

The implementation of the strategic cooperation document will also take place with the support of the European Union and the member and observer states of the Council of Europe.

The Action Plan of the CoE (2025-2028) will be the organization's fifth document for our country. Based on it, the Council of Europe and the national authorities agreed to continue cooperation to carry out the most important sets of reforms.

They aim at the justice sector, combating corruption and human trafficking, strengthening the national framework for the protection of children's rights, women's rights, reforms in local democracy.
