Moldovan Troops Join KFOR Mission

The 21st contingent of Moldovan peacekeepers deployed today on a peacekeeping mission of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) from Kosovo.

It consists of 41 military personnel, including infantrymen and engineers. The contingent will carry out missions of security and guard of military objectives and will patrol their area of responsibility. For the second consecutive year, four women are also participating in this mission.

The Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, claims that the military personnel are prepared according to international requirements and will be able to interoperate with the armies of partner states, ensuring peace and security in the region.

These personnel will be part of the Western Regional Command and will be stationed at Camp Villaggio Italia military base, located in the town of Pech, Kosovo.

In March of this year, the National Army reached 10 years of participation in the Kosovo Force (KFOR) peacekeeping mission.
