Maia Sandu Joins Global Leaders at 2024 Summer Olympics

President Maia Sandu of the Republic of Moldova is attending the opening of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, joining over 100 global leaders, as announced by the Presidency in Chișinău.

The Republic of Moldova will be represented by 26 athletes who hold 9 world champion titles and 11 European champion titles. These athletes will compete in 10 sports events included in the Olympic Games program.

During the visit, the head of state will also meet with the Moldovan diaspora in Nice, which is the largest Moldovan community in France after the one in Paris.
