Ukrainian Ambassador to Moldova Concludes Diplomatic Mission
The Ukrainian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Marko Șevcenko, has concluded his diplomatic mission.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean held a farewell meeting with the ambassador and expressed appreciation for the enduring friendship and ongoing cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Recean praised the steadfast relationship and collaboration between Moldova and Ukraine, noting that despite the crises caused by the brutal war of the Russian Federation against its neighbour, both nations have united their efforts to ensure citizen security and safeguard shared values.
"We support the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom and will move forward together as good neighbours on the path to European Union integration, demonstrating that the people of both countries wish to live in a space of peace, freedom, and European solidarity," stated Dorin Recean.
Ambassador Marko Șevcenko was recalled from his position after his mandate concluded in late December 2023. The decree, signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on March 29, 2024, formally ended his tenure.
On December 18, 2019, President Zelensky appointed Marko Șevcenko as Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova. Prior to this, Șevcenko had served in Moldova as a political advisor at the Ukrainian Embassy in Chișinău from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, in 2012 and from 2014 to 2015, he served as a temporary representative of Ukraine in Canada.
