Russia has massively attacked Ukraine in the last week. Zelensky: "Our people suffer every day because of Russian terror"
Russian forces have used more than 700 aerial guided bombs and more than 100 Shahed drones to attack Ukraine in the past week, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, as quoted by the Kyiv Independent.
"Our people suffer every day from Russian terror. Our people deserve fair and reliable protection against it. This can only be achieved with a sufficient range and quality of air defense systems. Every concrete decision by our partners to strengthen our forces can save lives. Thanks to everyone who understands this. I am grateful to everyone who helps us defeat terror," Zelenskiy wrote on Telegram.
Russian airstrikes against four Ukrainian regions have killed 11 people and wounded 41 others in the last day alone, according to regional authorities.
In his Telegram post, the Kiev leader called on allies to provide Kiev with long-range weapons and air defense equipment, adding that "every concrete decision of the partners is capable of saving people's lives."
While Ukraine is not allowed to fire Western-made long-range weapons into Russian territory, Kiev frequently launches drone strikes, mostly using domestically produced weapons.
