President of CEC: The budget for this year's local general elections is 178 million lei
For the organization and conduct of this year's general local elections, 178 million lei have been allocated from the state budget, the president of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Angelica Caraman, announced during the program "La 360 de grade" on Radio Moldova.
According to her, 24 million lei of this amount is to be included in the rectification of the budget for this year.
"The estimated budget for the local general elections this year is 178 million, a large majority of this amount, about 80% is for the salaries of the members of the electoral bodies. 154 million have been allocated at this moment, there is still time to rectify the budget because there are expenses that would be needed more for the second round", said Angelica Caraman.
Angelica Caraman also mentioned that although the state of emergency could be extended, this does not prevent the voting, as the CEC has also organized elections during the state of emergency, by decisions of the Parliament. We remind you that the last local elections took place in the fall of 2019.
