Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Israel: Our citizens are protected
In the Middle East the situation is uncertain, that is why the citizens of the Republic of Moldova must take into account the alert messages issued by the authorities in Chisinau, said the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Israel, Alexandr Roitman. The diplomat advises citizens to avoid any travel to Israel unless there is an urgent need.
"Our citizens are as protected as the citizens of Israel, there are no certain measures from the embassy, but all the instructions and precautions that are issued by the authorities must be strictly followed. The Israeli authorities have not changed the level of alert in Israel, yes, we are in a state of emergency and a state of war, but there are different levels and the instructions can be tightened, but it is important to note that the conditions can be changed at any time", said Alexandr Roitman.
We remind you that President Maia Sandu recently stated that the Chisinau authorities are monitoring the situation in the region, and if it is necessary to evacuate citizens from the Middle East, the state will make every effort to bring people home safely.
Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau has issued a travel alert to Lebanon and the Middle East region urging the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to avoid travelling to these areas, due to the high risk of terrorist attacks. The institution recommends Moldovans who are already in these localities to leave them "immediately", and those who are in or transiting Lebanon and the Middle East to always have their original travel documents with them. A similar warning was also issued by Romania, as well as by several Western states, including the United States, Germany, France and Great Britain.
