Over 150 tons of dangerous chemicals, evacuated from the Transnistrian region
154 tons of dangerous chemicals were evacuated from the Transnistrian region. They were collected from several electrical substations and a factory that, after the invasion of Ukraine, continued to deliver goods to Russia, although it was forbidden to do so. The substances were transported to Germany and will be incinerated.
The chemicals were collected from the electrical substations in Tighina, Grigoriopol, Hîrtop, Dubăsari, Rîbnița and Camenca. Hazardous substances were also collected from the "Moldavizolit" factory in Tiraspol, owned by the son of the oligarch Victor Gușan, the founder of the largest holding company in the Transnistrian region, Sheriff, reveals a RISE Moldova investigation.
It produces plastics used in the production of circuit boards. The factory's exports to Russia were stopped, it was found that the goods delivered had a dual purpose, civil and military. However, after the invasion of Ukraine, the plant would have continued to deliver to Russia, according to some sources.
