The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army met with the Chief of Staff of the US Army for the first time

Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valeri Zalujnyi announced on Tuesday that he had met for the first time with US Army Chief of Staff General Mark Milley amid intense negotiations over an increase in Western arms deliveries to Kyiv, reports Agerpres.

"My first face-to-face meeting with General Mark Milley took place today in Poland," Valeri Zalujnîi said on Telegram on Tuesday, thanking the US general for his country's "unwavering" support and mentioning the "urgent needs" of the Ukrainian military.

Polish President Andrzej Duda supported Ukraine's cause at the Davos forum on Tuesday, insisting that European allies must more quickly supply Kiev with weapons, including tanks, dpa notes.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has insisted that allies provide his country with more powerful weapons, including Leopard II tanks, which are seen as vital to recapturing territories occupied by Russia.
