Russian strikes kill civilians in eastern Ukraine
Russian strikes have caused the death of five civilians in three regions from the south and east of Ukraine, Ukrainian authorities announced today, the Russian army keeping up the pressure and its bombardments, reports AFP.
According to the local authorities, two people have lost their lives during an aerial attack in the Kharkiv region (northeast) and another in an artillery barrage in the eastern Donetsk region. In the Kherson region (south), a man has died as a result of a drone attack and another has died at the hospital after being wounded one day before in another attack.
According to the commander of the Ukrainian army Oleksandr Syrsky, the situation on the eastern and southern fronts remains “difficult, but under control”.
On Telegram, the administration of the city of Pokrovsk urged residents on Thursday, especially families with children, to evacuate, underlining that the enemy advances at a rapid pace.
