Proletarsk fire: 11 tanks destroyed, state of emergency declared

The fuel depot in Proletarsk, near the city of Rostov in Russia, has been burning for the third consecutive day, following a Ukrainian drone attack on Sunday.

On Monday, additional explosions were reported. The flames have engulfed approximately 10,000 square metres.

Telegram channels and local media report that at least 11 out of 74 tanks have been destroyed, though this information has not been officially confirmed.

According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, more than 500 firefighters, supported by aviation units, are engaged in extinguishing the fire. Over 40 rescuers have been injured, with at least five requiring intensive care.

The attack on the oil depot in Proletarsk occurred early Sunday morning. Local authorities state that the fire ignited in three separate locations as a result of Ukrainian drone strikes. A state of emergency has been declared in Proletarsk since yesterday. Satellite images reveal that the smoke trail has extended over an area of nearly 25 kilometres.
