Moldova's progress: Citizens hope for EU membership and growth
In the more than three decades since gaining independence, the Republic of Moldova has seen significant development, according to its citizens.
Many Moldovans report feeling freer and enjoying more opportunities. Nonetheless, they express high expectations for the country’s future.
"I observe that the Republic of Moldova is progressing well and developing. We hope to join the European Union, as we desire this, and we wish for global peace and understanding," stated one respondent.
"I left the country nearly 20 years ago. Yes, many things have changed; it is now more beautiful and cleaner, and we like it," another individual commented.
"In my view, the changes have not yet fully met expectations. There is room for improvement in all areas, particularly in the economic sector," another person noted.
"I appreciate it as it is, with its strengths and weaknesses. I was born here, and I live here," said another respondent.
