The head of the National Police will temporarily lead the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv
The head of the Ukrainian National Police, Igor Klymenko, will temporarily lead the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Denis Şmîgal on Telegram.
"The government has appointed Igor Klymenko as deputy minister of internal affairs and entrusted him with the duties of minister of internal affairs," said the head of the Kyiv executive.
There were nine people on board: six representatives of the operational group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in particular Minister Denis Monastyrskyi, his deputy Yevghen Yenin and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Iuri Lubkovici, as well as three members of the crew of the State Emergency Service. They all died. In total, according to the latest information, 17 people lost their lives in the tragic accident, of which 4 are children. Another 25 people were transported to the hospital, writes UKRINFORM.
The scale of the tragedy was aggravated by the fact that the helicopter fell near a kindergarten and an apartment building.
