Student enrollments surge as dual education gains popularity in Moldova

Over 3,500 young individuals have been admitted to budget-funded places at colleges and centres of excellence across the country.

Additionally, more than 6,000 individuals have been admitted to vocational-technical schools following the second round of the admission session. Concurrently, over 5,500 students from colleges and centres of excellence, along with 192 from vocational schools, will be responsible for paying tuition fees.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, there has been a 54 percent increase in the number of individuals seeking to combine their studies with work compared to the previous year. Consequently, 291 students from colleges and centres of excellence and 1,206 from vocational schools have enrolled in dual education programs funded by the budget.

The most sought-after specialties among students at colleges and centres of excellence include information technology, medical assistance, primary education, accounting, and jurisprudence. Meanwhile, those admitted to vocational schools have selected specialties such as electrician, mechanic, computer technical support, and food quality control.
