Moldova earns 18 medals at Budapest WAKO World Championship

Kickboxers from the Republic of Moldova secured 18 medals at the WAKO World Championship for juniors and cadets, which took place in Budapest, Hungary.

Ioan Casco achieved two gold medals in the under 63 kg category, excelling in both the kick light and light contact divisions.

In addition, four other Moldovan athletes—Daniel Maximenco, Dumitru Vengher, and Chiril Saprighin—each earned gold medals across various categories.

Moreover, nine additional representatives from Moldova earned podium finishes in their respective weight classes.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the Moldovan team ranked 18th out of 65 participating countries.

The WAKO World Championship in Budapest featured 3,012 athletes.
