Mihailov-Moraru to sign key justice plan in Vilnius

Veronica Mihailov-Moraru is set to sign the Justice Sector Action Plan between the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova during her visit to Vilnius.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the plan aims to enhance the exchange of experience and best practices in transposing European Union legislation into the justice sector. It also focuses on monitoring the application of European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rulings, facilitating extradition and international legal assistance, managing the international transfer of convicted persons, and combating and preventing corruption.

While in Vilnius on September 4-5, Veronica Mihailov-Moraru will attend the Informal Conference of Justice Ministers from the member states of the Council of Europe, titled “Towards Accountability for International Crimes Committed in Ukraine.”

The event will gather representatives from around forty countries.

The Vilnius Conference seeks to explore ways for the Council of Europe and its member states to bolster support for Ukraine's justice system and reinforce the international legal order by ensuring accountability for the crime of aggression.
