The Șor file is close to finality, and the file in which Vlad Plahotniuc is targeted is pending at the Court of Appeal, said the head of the Anti Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Veronica Dragalin. Pronouncing final decisions on high-profile cases and eliminating corrupt prosecutors and judges from the system are among the priorities of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office for 2023.

The Șor file is close to finality, in 2-3 meetings, the final decision will be pronounced, noted the head of the Anti Corruption Prosecutor's Office, on a show at Jurnal TV.

"From the side of the accuser, I have completed everything necessary. There are about two or three meetings to have the debates until the end, to have a solution in this file. We see month after month that lawyers keep finding reasons to postpone the hearings. We hope to have a decision as soon as possible, but at the same time, the legislation of the Republic of Moldova allows lawyers to submit all kinds of actions and requests", stated Dragalin.

The file in which Vlad Plahotniuc is concerned is pending at the Court of Appeal, and the prosecutors are waiting for the sentence to be pronounced regarding the submission of the file to court in his absence, added Veronica Dragalin.

In the case of the Andronachi file, a former close associate of Vlad Plahotniuc, it is important that she be kept in preventive detention, and the prosecutors will soon present the evidence for the submission of the file to the court, the head of the Anti Corruption Prosecutor's Office emphasised.

In six months since she has been at the head of the Anti Corruption Prosecutor's Office, the first case of conviction of a judge for illicit enrichment was registered, the head of the institution said. According to her, the priority of the Anti Corruption Prosecutor's Office for 2023 is the elimination of corrupt prosecutors and judges from the system.

Veronica Dragalin added that she does not intend to resign following the Telegram leak scandal, given that the veracity of the information has not been proven, and she took over the head of the Anti Corruption Prosecutor's Office following a transparent competition.

Radio Moldova reminds its audience that Ilan Șor was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison in 2017 for fraud and money laundering in particularly large proportions, in the case of Banca de Economii. So far the judges have not issued a final decision on this file.
