Ion Basoc won a silver medal in the para judo competition in the +90 kilogram weight category. He became the first Moldovan athlete to receive this distinction at an edition of the Paralympic Games.

"I feel like Anastasia Nichita now. I was on the way to win gold. Unfortunately, it is what it is. That's what God wanted. I feel a happy and proud man that I was able to represent the Republic of Moldova beautifully at the Paralympic Games", said Ion Basoc.

Oleg Crețul won the bronze medal in the para-judo competition in the category of up to 90 kilograms.

"The most pleasant was the support of our compatriots from the stands. Many Moldovans came to support us. This bronze medal is like gold for me. I was the oldest participant in the competition, and for this reason, it was very difficult to win this medal," said Oleg Crețul.

Crețul and Basoc brought the first medals for our country at the Paralympic Games after a break of 28 years. The other Moldovan paralympians, who honorably represented the Republic of Moldova at the great event in Paris, also returned home.

"This experience marked me tremendously. They shook all my emotions. First of all, it was a life lesson for me. I met other special people. I felt good in a special place", said Ina Cerna.

At the Paralympic Games in Paris, the Republic of Moldova was represented by 5 athletes. Ion Basoc will get from the state 2.6 million lei for the silver medal, and Oleg Crețul - 2 million lei for the bronze. Similarly, Larisa Marinenkova will get 300 thousand lei for the seventh place, and Gheorghe Spânu will get 200 000 thousand lei for the 8th place.
