A solid household waste recycling center will be built in Chisinau

A solid household waste recycling center will be built in Chisinau. For its construction, the state allocates a 15-hectare plot of land, located near Uzinelor str.

The land was chosen in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

According to Chisinau City Hall, the National Waste Management strategy provides for the regionalization of municipal waste management services. Currently, the regions are fragmented into eight zones.

The project has a total value of 23 million euros.

The Republic of Moldova borrows 200 million euros for the expansion and rehabilitation of forests

The Republic of Moldova signed a loan agreement with the European Investment Bank in the amount of 200 million euros, money that will be used for the expansion and rehabilitation of forests. According to the Ministry of the Environment, the new forest areas will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 12 million tons over the next 30 years.
