The IPN agency published data on the average salary of women in the Republic of Moldova, which last year was 15.6% lower than that of men. The difference between the average salaries amounts to over 2,000 lei. Thus, the average gross monthly salary of women was 11,237 lei, while men recorded an average salary of 13,309 lei. In most economic fields, men earn better than women. The National Bureau of Statistics points out that the biggest differences are found in the information and communications sector, where the average salary for men is 38% higher than for women, followed by finance and insurance, with a difference of 34.6%, and health and social assistance, with 25.6%.
TVR Moldova published the statements of Ion Șalaru, the deputy director of the National Public Health Agency, regarding the quality of water in the Republic of Moldova. He pointed out that water quality varies depending on the source. The safest sources of water are found in urban areas and in certain villages that are connected to aqueducts from surface sources, such as the Nistru and Prut rivers.
