Nine TV channels and seven Radio stations will organize electoral debates

Nine TV channels and seven radio stations will organize electoral debates this autumn, informs the Audiovisual Council.

Of the nine TV channels that will organize and run this type of electoral program in this autumn's elections, eight are national and one is regional. As for the radio stations, two are national, four – regional and one – local.

According to the Audiovisual Council, in the organization and conduct of electoral debates, media service providers must take into account the provisions of the Regulation on the coverage of elections by media institutions, approved by the Central Electoral Commission.

Speech that incites hatred; misinformation; messages justifying wars of aggression, denying war crimes and crimes against humanity, other messages expressly prohibited by law; the use of sexist language is prohibited during electoral debates.

This year, the total number of notifications of non-reflection of the autumn elections is 80. Among them are the 11 stations whose broadcasting license was suspended by the Council for the promotion of investment projects of national importance within the Investment Agency during December 2023 - August 2024.
