A Moldovan woman, among the victims of the terrorist attack in Tel-Aviv
A Moldovan woman was killed in the terrorist attack in Jaffa, Tel-Aviv, on the evening of October 1. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE). The identity of the victim is to be confirmed, informs the diplomacy from Chisinau.
"The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Israel is in permanent contact with the local authorities, awaiting official confirmation of the identity of the victim. Also, our diplomatic mission is ready to offer the victim's relatives all the necessary consular assistance", reads the MFA.
The Jerusalem Post writes that the victim is Nadia Sokolenko. This is the mother of one child and she immigrated from the Republic of Moldova to Israel.
The MFA sent its condolences to all the bereaved families following the bloody terrorist attack that resulted in seven victims and occurred in parallel with the Iranian ballistic attack on Israel.
We remind you that the attack in Jaffa happened just a few minutes before the missile offensive launched by Iran. As a result of the attack, at least seven people died and dozens more were injured. The Israeli authorities continue to investigate the connections between the two incidents, in the context of the escalation of the conflict in the region.
In the morning, the head of diplomacy from Chisinau, Mihai Popșoi, condemned the two attacks on Israel. "We strongly condemn any form of violence," he wrote on social media. His Israeli counterpart, Israel Katz, thanked Mihai Popșoi for his support and solidarity, stressing that "Israel will not forget his friends."
