Government: Information about the opening of centers for migrants in Moldova is fake
The government warns that the information according to which centres would be opened in the Republic of Moldova for asylum seekers rejected and targeted in expulsion procedures is fake. The spokesperson of the Executive, Daniel Vodă, said that such proposals "are not discussed and are not accepted".
"A new fake news appeared, according to which the Republic of Moldova would host a center for rejected asylum seekers and subject to deportation procedures. Let's be clear: the Government is not discussing such a proposal and will not accept such ideas," said Daniel Vodă.
We remind that information appeared in the British media that the European Commission intends to discuss "initiatives" to create "camps for migrants" in countries that want to join the EU bloc, such as Moldova, Serbia and Albania.
This is not the only fake in the media in the Republic of Moldova. Over the past two weeks, several fake messages and letters purporting to be official documents issued by several state institutions have been shared on social media. The spokesperson of the Government, Daniel Vodă, stated that the fake information has only one goal: to create confusion among the citizens. In this context, the authorities call on the population to be extremely cautious and to verify the information received.
