Trade liberalization with the EU: Moldovan exports tripled in three years
The trade liberalization with the EU allowed the tripling of Moldovan exports, in just three years, the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba, wrote on his social media page.
The value of exports of liberalized agricultural products increased from $26.9 million to $89.5 million, said the official. Some of these have far exceeded the originally planned quotas: grapes by 62%, cherries by 93%, and plums by 300%.
According to Dumitru Alaiba, these results represent the best proof that our products are increasingly appreciated on the European markets.
We remind you that, in 2022, the European Council adopted a regulation for the temporary liberalization of trade for seven agricultural products from the Republic of Moldova: tomatoes, garlic, table grapes, apples, cherries, plums and grape juice. The measures were last extended until 24 July 2025.
