Romania is committed to supporting the Republic of Moldova in the face of the challenges of Russian propaganda

The Romanian government reaffirms its firm support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova and emphasizes the need to combat the aggressive propaganda coming from Russia. Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu declared that Romania will continue to support the authorities in Chisinau in achieving the goal of integration into the European Union, despite Russia's attempts to divert this path through fake news and hybrid attacks.

"Romania stands by the Republic of Moldova in fulfilling the European dream," emphasized Prime Minister Ciolacu, urging the leaders from Chisinau not to be intimidated by these disinformation actions. He added that together with the other EU member states, Romania will support the strengthening of democratic institutions in the Republic of Moldova and its ability to counter the hybrid attacks to which it is subjected from the Russian Federation.

We remind that on Wednesday, the European Parliament adopted a resolution denouncing electoral bribery, cyber operations and information warfare and asked Russia to respect the independence of the Republic of Moldova, to stop destabilization and to withdraw its armed forces.
