Metropolis of Bessarabia urges citizens to vote on October 20, "regardless of political options"

The Metropolis of Bessarabia urges the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to participate "regardless of political options", in the presidential elections and the republican constitutional referendum on October 20. The future of the country depends on participation in the polls, says the Metropolis of Bessarabia, this is why "every vote counts".

"Dear believers, on Sunday, October 20, we urge you to go to the polling stations, with a peaceful conscience that you have done your part for the good of the country, for its peace and prosperity. Regardless of the political options, it is important to participate, express your vote and contribute to the common good".

We remind that on October 20, citizens of the Republic of Moldova are expected at the polls. They will receive two ballots each: one for the presidential elections and one for the constitutional republican referendum, where they will have to choose "YES" or "NO" voting options, answering the question: "Do you support the amendment of the Constitution with a view to the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union?".

For the referendum to be validated, it is necessary the participation of at least 1/3 of the voters. For the Constitution to be amended, at least half of those present at the polls must vote in favor. This means that at least 550,000 Moldovans must stamp "Voted" on "Yes".
