Number of cases of COVID-19 and respiratory infections, decreasing
The number of respiratory infections and cases of COVID-19 is decreasing. According to the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), over 3,900 cases of upper respiratory infections were registered during the past week, 62 %of which were in children. The data shows a 10.5% decrease compared to the previous week.
In the same period, 148 cases of COVID-19 were registered, of which 28 among children up to 14 years old, down by more than 45 percent compared to the previous week. No cases of seasonal flu have been registered, informs ANSP.
According to the institution, the Republic of Moldova purchased a batch of 200 thousand doses of the flu vaccine, and currently, the process of immunization against the flu is being carried out in public medical and sanitary institutions in the country. Up to now, more than 35% of the total doses received have been administered.
ANSP recommends simultaneous vaccination against seasonal flu and the COVID-19 infection.
