Police recommendations for citizens on the day of the presidential election and the referendum

The General Police Inspectorate (IGP) will undertake all necessary measures to ensure public safety and the smooth running of the electoral process on October 20. According to the Police, on October 19, the police will monitor the transport and will escort of ballot papers and other electoral documents to the single-member constituencies, ensuring their integrity. After delivery, the electoral materials will be taken under police guard.

Thus, to prevent legal violations on election day, citizens are warned to follow some important rules: not to enter the polling stations with weapons, not to destroy the electoral lists, not to take the ballot papers outside the premises and to respect the provisions of the president of the electoral office.

Citizens are also urged to vote peacefully, avoid provocations and report any incident by calling 112.

Also, the law enforcement officers remind that on Saturday, October 19 and on election day, electoral contestants are not allowed to campaign.

We remind you that over 2,220 polling stations will be opened in the Republic of Moldova for the republican constitutional referendum and the presidential elections on October 20. Most – 1,957 – will be opened in the country's constituencies.

30 polling stations will be opened for voters from the towns on the left side of the Nistru, and another 234 - for citizens with the right to vote from abroad. In the Chisinau constituency, including the suburbs, voters will be expected to vote at 306 polling stations.
