Money in exchange for vote. Over 400 people, documented by the police
Over 400 people are currently documented for accepting money in exchange for voting, the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) announces. The authorities say that they risk fines of up to 37,500 lei.
Moreover, the IGP mentions that most of those targeted collaborate with the investigation and provide information that can serve as evidence. Moreover, under the law, those who actively cooperate with the investigation and provide information will be exempted from paying fines.
Police continue to focus on identifying and documenting people who accepted money for voting, as well as those who influenced processes to corrupt voters.
