Modest evolution for biathlete Alina Stremous at the Antholz-Anterselva World Cup
Biathlete Alina Stremous ranked 37th in the World Cup pursuit event, a competition that takes place from Thursday to Sunday in the Antholz-Anterselva resort in the Italian Alps.
The 27-year-old athlete was timed in 33 minutes and 23 seconds. That competition was won by the sportswoman from Germany, Denissa Herman, followed by the Italian Lisa Vitozzi and the Swedish Elvira Oeberg.
On the men's ranking, two other representatives of the Republic of Moldova, Maxim Makarov and Pavel Magaziev, participated in the sprint event over the distance of 7.5 km. Both evolved modestly. Makarov placed 70th, with only one shooting miss, while Magaziev placed 77th out of 98 athletes who took part in the start.
On Sunday evening, at the competition in Antholz-Anterselva, two relay events are scheduled, for men and women. The men's relay will start at 3:30 p.m., and the Republic of Moldova team will also be present at the start, the team consisting of Pavel Magaziev, Maxim Makarov and the brothers Mihail and Andrei Usov.
This stage of the World Cup is the last one before the Biathlon World Championship, scheduled for February 8-19 in the mountain resort of Oberhof in Germany.
