Raisa Vieru, the wife of the late poet Grigore Vieru, passed away
Raisa Vieru, the wife of the late poet Grigore Vieru, passed away. This was announced on the Facebook page of the "Saint Teodora de la Sihla" Cathedral.
The Ministry of Culture sent a message of condolences, evoking the deep connection between Raisa Vieru and the poet.
"Raisa Vieru, wife of the great poet Grigore Vieru, has passed away. We express our sincere condolences to the bereaved family!", reads the message of the ministry posted on social networks.
The religious service will start on Sunday, at 4:00 p.m., at the "St. Teodora de la Sihla" from Chisinau.
Raisa Vieru, born Nacu, married Grigore Vieru in the summer of 1960, she was a teacher of Romanian and Latin. Grigore Vieru died on January 18, 2009, following a serious road accident, which occurred on the night of January 15 to 16, while he was returning from Cahul to Chisinau.
