Tragedy at Vadul lui Vodă: A small plane crashed on the territory of a rest base. Who is the pilot who died
UPDATE 15:15: The pilot who allegedly lost his life following the aviation catastrophe at Vadul lui Vodă is Alexander Koss, the president of the Association of Foreign Investors from Moldova. Former Prime Minister Pavel Filip announced the death of Koss on social networks. Contacted for a comment, the spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority, Bodolica Irina, did not confirm the identity of the dead pilot.
One person died, after a small plane crashed on the territory of the "Speranța" rest base in the small town of Vadul lui Vodă. The tragic incident happened in the morning of October 27, announces the General Inspectorate for Emergencies (IGSU). Fire crews immediately intervened on the scene.
According to the quoted source, the aircraft crashed on the roof of a one-level building within the rest base. The impact caused a fire, which engulfed the small plane. Four teams of rescuers and firefighters were mobilized at the scene of the accident. During the intervention, they discovered the body of a person inside the plane.
The fire was located at 10:18, and the fire was completely extinguished at 10:25. The authorities are yet to establish the cause and circumstances that led to this plane crash.
