Moldova simplifies energy bill compensation for citizens
The registration procedure for energy bill compensation will remain unchanged from previous years. Starting in November, citizens will need to register on the platform compensatii.gov.md, where they can enter their personal data, including monthly income, either independently or with the assistance of social workers.
The compensation system will also be more efficient and user-friendly, according to Corina Ajder, State Secretary at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
"We have tried to simplify the application process for citizens," stated Ajder. "This year, for citizens who are not comfortable using digital tools, in addition to being able to register with social workers, we will also have mobile teams who will visit citizens at their homes to provide assistance. We have also improved the anti-fraud system to ensure that all funds are used appropriately. We will be verifying more data."
Ajder also stated that this year, compensation will also be allocated in monetary form.
"We are currently analysing the necessary steps," she explained, "but a condition that existed in the previous year, and which we will likely make stricter now, is the requirement for individuals to be present in the Republic of Moldova. In previous years, it was necessary for the person to be in the country to receive compensation. They would need to actually be living in their home this year. We will verify this aspect more carefully."
It is worth noting that during the cold season of 2023-2024, over 792,000 households registered for state compensation. In total, over 2.5 billion Moldovan lei were allocated.
