Fake! Authorities deny that an American company is buying land in the Republic of Moldova

New fake news is being distributed online, such as that a big American company will buy land in the Republic of Moldova. The authorities state that this is a fake.

"We ask citizens to check the veracity of information, especially during the election campaign. All official information is communicated exclusively through our official communication channels and in collaboration with the European institutions", state the authorities.

We remind you that on December 28, 2023, the Parliament voted on the Land Code, which clearly states that - "The right of ownership of agricultural land or forest land cannot be acquired or held by foreign citizens, individuals or legal entities".

The sale of land to foreign companies and citizens is prohibited by law.
