Platform for Ukrainian refugees’ employment, launched in the Republic of Moldova

A new online employment platform, DILO.MD, was launched in the Republic of Moldova to help Ukrainian refugees find jobs more easily. The initiative is being implemented by the National Congress of Ukrainians in Moldova with support from the United Nations.

Currently, the platform lists 630 job vacancies, primarily in the municipality of Chisinau, according to project manager Roman Rusu. He noted that there is a growing interest among refugees in using this platform, which allows them to connect directly with potential employers.

"This project builds upon an earlier initiative that started in 2022, aimed at facilitating the integration of Ukrainian refugees into Moldovan society through employment. We received numerous applications following the launch, and we expect that number to increase due to our information campaign. More refugees realize that the war may not end soon, prompting them to seek integration and achieve financial independence through employment," explained Roman Rusu.

Additionally, the Employment Agency has reported that since the beginning of the year, it has successfully employed over 1,560 Ukrainian refugees, the majority of whom are women. These individuals have mostly found jobs as programmers, engineers, salespeople, and in the HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering) sector.
