Governor advisor detained for inciting violence online

A governor advisor from UTA Gagauzia was detained for 72 hours after inciting violent actions online against President Maia Sandu and former president Igor Dodon.

INI officers, along with PCCOCS prosecutors, conducted searches on Friday evening following the advisor's post on social media, in which he called for the killing of both individuals.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the advisor is currently a suspect in a case of inciting violence through public calls for violence against a group of people based on prejudice.

If convicted, the suspect faces a fine of up to 52,500 lei, community service without pay, or imprisonment for up to three years.
