EU reaffirms support for Moldova's European path
The European Union remains committed to supporting the Republic of Moldova in its efforts to maintain and increase the country's stability and prosperity on its European path.
Representatives of the Political and Security Committee of the Council of the European Union made declarations to this effect during discussions with Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Defense, the parties discussed cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union in the defence sector, the objective of modernising the Moldovan National Army, and prospects for deepening the partnership through new assistance projects.
The participants also addressed the current security situation and the challenges posed by Russia's war in Ukraine, strategic development objectives, and the importance of accelerating the Republic of Moldova's European path.
The EU delegation's visit to Chisinau included meetings with the head of the EU Delegation in the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Jānis Mažeiks, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, and other government officials.
