"Kindness starts with you": National Kindness Week launched in the Republic of Moldova
National Kindness Week has been launched, aiming to promote philanthropy and encourage active engagement from local authorities and non-governmental organizations in supporting communities. With the slogan "Kindness starts with you," this year’s edition seeks to foster solidarity and mutual assistance. A variety of activities will be organized at the national level, including fundraising events, workshops, and volunteer initiatives.
Doina Cernavca, the President of the Platform for the Promotion and Development of Philanthropy, announced that daily activities will be organized throughout the week to assist those in need. "Tomorrow, we will have an open reading lesson with students from grades 1-4 in the village of Bahmut, Călărași district. On Wednesday, we will host a cooking workshop for the residents of Casa 'Valeriu,' a facility dedicated to cancer patients. On Thursday, we will implement the ‘Buy winter shoes for a child", said Doina Cernavca.
More than 50 localities and public institutions responded to the call from the Platform for the Promotion and Development of Philanthropy, planning various acts of kindness. One association will launch a campaign to support 80 children.
"This week, CCF Moldova, in partnership with the European Business Environment Association, will run a campaign entitled 'Give Warmth.' The association is mobilizing its members and urging the public to donate to gather the necessary resources for procuring firewood for the cold season," explained Tatiana Codreanu, a representative of CCF Moldova.
To enhance philanthropy, it is crucial to involve more individuals and authorities. "To advance philanthropy in our country, we need a conducive environment and legislative changes that favor those who perform acts of kindness, philanthropy, and sponsorship. This week, we will also initiate discussions with the authorities on this matter," emphasized Serghei Neicovcen, Executive Director of the "Contact" center.
The "National Kindness Week" campaign is in its fourth edition and is conducted by the Platform for the Promotion and Development of Philanthropy, with the support of the American people.
